Biographies

Gregory A. McLaughlin, a director with Tripp Scott, provides counsel on corporate finance, business planning and a wide range of commercial and individual tax matters. He has extensive experience in corporate finance, including syndicated loans and private placements. McLaughlin represents regional and national banks in transactions involving asset-based lending, owner-occupied real estate, construction loans and mega-yacht loans.

McLaughlin's experience in tax-related transactions includes like-kind exchanges, the formation and structure of business ventures involving limited partnerships, limited-liability companies, and mergers and acquisitions. His estate planning and business-ownership transition planning work includes business-succession planning, family limited partnerships and grantor-retained annuity trusts. He also handles tax disputes and collection matters before the Internal Revenue Service and the Florida Department of Revenue for clients.

McLaughlin is a member of the board of governors of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, the corporate board of directors of the YMCA of Broward County and the advisory board of the International Game Fish Association.

McLaughlin holds an LL.M. in taxation, a law degree with honors and a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Florida.
